Job Requirements
To be considered for the Risk & Compliance Officer role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field
Proven experience in financial services
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Demonstrated ability to manage complex situations effectively
High level of commitment, tenacity, and personal drive
Strong people management and leadership skills
Ability to build and sustain relationships with senior stakeholders
Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem-solving
Familiarity with SQL and data analysis
Experience in project management and work plan development
Core Responsibilities
As the MFS Risk and Compliance Officer, your key duties will include:
Conducting risk assessments for new MFS products and services
Reviewing and updating control policies and procedures
Ensuring compliance with GSMA Mobile Money Code and regulatory standards
Overseeing Gawio processes in line with the National Payment System Act 2015
Monitoring E-Stock controls and validating BOT returns
Performing due diligence and weekly sanction/PEP screenings
Investigating suspicious transactions linked to financial crimes
Managing alerts and updating compliance dashboards
Handling refund verifications and regulatory information requests
Providing timely risk analysis and reports to senior management
